In Bucharest we visted Ceausescu's palace. We were the only English speakers in the building. Everybody else was a Romanian, wandering around slacked-jawed as they contemplated three decades of poverty, misery and oppression made manifest in marble, gold leaf and brocade around them.

Remembering a talk on private browsing at Open Tech London back in the day. The speaker reported a survey in which people were perfectly happy to sell their private data to Google - until they found out that Google only valued their private data at £5.64 (give or take a few pennies).
