FBI: Do u know Karl Marx

Mahmood Mamdani: Haven’t met him

FBI: No, he's dead

Mamdani: Wow, what happened?

FBI: No, no, he died long ago

Mamdani: Why are you asking me?

FBI: He wrote that poor people should not be poor

Mamdani: Sounds wonderful

This idea that #metoo was a temporary piece of insanity that happened because America was too woke...

Fuck you. It was a temporary moment in time when people decided, for the first time, that 20 women were finally equal to one man.

Someday, I want to take a vacation that’s actually relaxing. But I don’t know how or what it would be.

I strongly suspect that step one is believing that everything is okay and well taken care of at home.

I’m team A.

My husband’s family apparently took all the weekly leftovers and put them in the freezer, and when they reached a certain volume, everything went in a crock pot for “freezer pot.” Which sounds very economical and also utterly unappetizing.
Settle a household debate with me. If you have leftovers, you should store them:

a) in the fridge in their own container
b) in the fridge in the same container as *different* leftovers from the day before

I swear, if you do not answer this question correctly, I am blocking you.

Hello, Vermont! Can we please follow this model?
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:
Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts
A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

We went out and took Northern Lights photos with my phone (iPhone 8) and my husband’s phone (iPhone 14). These are roughly the same direction at the same time. It’s still very impressive with the naked eye (or an old phone), but the very impressive shots owe a lot to fancy phones.

I, too, am going to be so pissed if we’ve gone through all this for nothing. Fucking furious.
My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

You know you are the villains when you are fighting to starve people.
LET ME BE PERFECTLY CLEAR: DOJ DID ALL OF THIS TO TRY AND STOP PAYMENTS TO PEOPLE UNDER AN ANTI-HUNGER PROGRAM.
Oh, this is wild.

DOJ went to SCOTUS *before* we got the First Circuit's administrative stay denial. (We know this because DOJ just filed a letter at SCOTUS about the admin stay denial.)

So, DOJ went to SCOTUS b/c the First Circuit did not meet its less-than-seven-hour "deadline" for a ruling.

The lengths this administration will go to starve people is really unprecedented.
BREAKING: DOJ goes to SCOTUS trying to stop a district court order that USDA pay out full SNAP benefits this month.

The First Circuit denied an administrative stay, but has not yet ruled on the stay request. And, CNN reported that USDA is already processing payments.

DOJ went to SCOTUS anyway.
