the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.

Someone posted that clip of a brawl between Milt Wilcox and Lenny Randle when Wilcox pitched for Cleveland. I remember Wilcox from his run with the Tigers, which included the 1984 WS winning team. I'm sure his numbers don't impress. His 16 complete games in 1978 was 7th most that year in the AL.
