Another example of the utter incompetence of the Trump Admin.

Because of how exchange rates work, an increase in foreign investment on the U.S. causes an increase in the trade deficit
I cannot emphasize enough that increasing foreign investment in the US and shrinking US trade deficits are in direct, irreconcilable tension w/ one another.

*US TO LOWER TARIFF RATE ON SWISS GOODS TO 15%, GREER SAYS
*SWITZERLAND AGREED TO $200B INVESTMENT IN THE US, GREER SAYS

If my 7-year-old engaged in this sort of bigotry and name calling I would expect to find myself in a parent-teacher conference by tomorrow afternoon. Meanwhile, the White House Press Secretary is out here on national television, living her best life
After calling Schumer a "Palestinian," Leavitt refers to "Gavin Newscum." So she's just ripping off her boss's smears now.

Do political science profs have to explain to their students that, for most of American history, it was actually borderline unthinkable that elected officials and their spokespersons would constantly talk like trashy reality show contestants?

Given the latest revelations, I'm not sure we're making a big enough deal that Trump initially wanted Matt Gaetz for AG.

"taking jobs from Americans" really gives away the game. This guy just hates immigrants and thinks they don't belong here, and can be treated as sub-humans.
Bovino: "Whether they were criminals or individuals that were taking jobs from Americans -- you name it, that's what they were doing. And I'll tell you what's gonna happen. We're gonna go even harder on the streets. If he releases those 650, we're gonna apprehend 1,650 on the streets of Chicago."

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

There are exactly two people who have the unambiguous power to make this stop btw
New: Google has chosen a side in Trump's mass deportation campaign. Google is hosting a CBP facial recognition app to hunt immigrants; no indication Google will remove. At same time Google takes down apps for reporting ICE sightings

It’s wild how many of the ICE/CBP detentions are turning out to be illegal — and yet in the US system, there are no consequences for the agents and no recourse for the victims.

It certainly seems like "red" American occupying "blue" America, like some twisted revenge for Reconstruction.
“If you look at the patterns of where this admin has focused its deployment of National Guard troops, it’s a lot of Black cities, a lot of ‘woke’ places,” said Brookings fellow Hanna Love. Targeting seems to relate to "the demographics and the political leanings of those places, which is alarming.”
Will Maryland National Guard riot control force stifle protests, elections?
“These on-call elements have existed for approximately 20 years in every state and territory as a response force available to governors,” A National Guard spokesman said.

At the end of the day, I don't believe a GOP led by the Fuentes faction can win elections. And if I'm wrong about that, then America deserves to be destroyed.
For all the leftist, liberal and moderate conservative schadenfreude over Trump's current predicament in the face of the Epstein files, a loss of control among the older generation of MAGA bosses opens up the Republican Party to a full hostile takeover by its Fuentes faction

What I like about this is that now when we bring down Trump we can also bring down Bondi and Patel, who are just openly leveraging the most powerful law enforcement institutions to protect a child sex predator. Tear down the entire criminal MAGA enterprise and all the co-conspirators

Earnest post: there is increasingly direct evidence that Trump participated in child sex trafficking or at least knew about it.

He should resign, be impeached and removed from office, and prosecuted.

Even if you don’t think that WILL happen it’s important to say publicly that it SHOULD happen.

So on Epstein, the Democratic position should be "Trump should resign." If you are a Democratic elected, practice saying "We demand the president's resignation" in front of a mirror as many times as it takes until the dry-heaving that comes from having a phobia about actually doing politics passes.
