Rare Saturday off. She says I've too many unopened bottles so decided to crack 4 I've not tried yet. Maybe I'll get it in the neck about all the open bottles now. Can't win. Guessing my preference will be ascending from left to right.
Furtive kitchen cooking dram and bottle kill. The Aquavitae crowd raved but rarely hit 7/10 for me. Of course it's a 7 today on the way out. Think the £45 I paid was fair though.
At what price do you bail out of buying a bottle of whisky? Had a Meikle Toir Turbo in the basket at a fair price, progressed to check out - £14.99 delivery please. Nope. I’m out. Is that fair for a small retailer or am I too tight?
Furtive generous final dram in the kitchen while I make tea and the other half is having a 'well deserved' nap. Unremarkable but a steady 6/10 - won't be seeking another. Unfortunately I already have another.
One more space cleared in the cupboard. Quite enjoyed this given it's only a young whisky - works well in warm weather particularly. Will wait a few years before getting another to see how they are ageing.
Never had a Dalmunach. At £36 for a CS version can’t be too much of a gamble or is it just better to get double the age of a more known product with a SV 100 proof for a tenner more. Some other interesting priced ones with TWB too.
I’m a tedious Whiskybase type but the biggest joy from it is closing one off so I can review the stash as to what to open next as I limit it to 20 open bottles at any one time.
Ok, so it’s 43% but it’s really good. Can’t leave that at £50 but need to gen up on the other Benromach on offer too (the unpeated Contrast at £40?) @aberdeenwhiskyshop.bsky.social
It's surprisingly hot so finished the bottle with tonic water. Bought all 3 main LL 12s a while ago. Standard 12 replaced twice, the Imchmurrin once but will probably count this as a one and done.
How can a supermarket (Booths) have Wire Works first release on the shelf in 2025?! They can't have found a box in the back after this many years surely!
