as soon as blair made a lost cat post & popped it on our local facebook community page our lost cat jumped through the window almost as though she'd seen the post & realised we were worrying & that was really quite good of her & apparently she was squatting under someone's deck & not loving it

"This should be an annual day of remembrance for the public, where survivors are honoured and everyone else is asked to remember what happened to them. It is the abusers and their enablers who should be reflecting on their actions and what changes are needed."

Spend 5 minutes on LinkedIn and tell me unchecked capitalism is working. People desperately trying to leverage personal trauma for engagement, "professionals" airing half-baked + hateful political views, managers you've seen bully people for years dispensing trite leadership tips. It's cooked.

I love Starling - some of my favourite poems in Starling I later saw into print when editing selections for the AUP New Poets series, others I have taught in class. These four poems from Starling are wonderful, surprising choices - which Starling poem would you choose?
the 4 editors pick a fave each from Starling - read and love today, and reread and relove over the weekend ⭐️

HOT LIBRARY INTEL: you can ask your library to purchase specific titles for their collection, usually right through the library's website.

Librarians can't know every single new title, nor can they mind-read what their patrons might want to check out. Give it a shot!

Totally agree. Another good thing Matt Doocey has done is introduce peer support roles into specialist eating disorder services across Aotearoa.
One good thing the government has done through Matt Doocey is put peer support specialists into ED for people experiencing mental health crises but also why are they triaging people through ED at all, they need a separate waiting area. The current situation is stigmatising and humiliating.

It makes me uncomfortable, my story—part insight, part anecdote—started by unreliable people at cross-purposes. And which photographs didn’t get saved? And which photographs didn’t get taken? I never figured out who named the cat but everyone took credit for it.
