He just doesn’t miss. That line at the end was pure gold.

"I'm not surprised the personal attacks have started. They've got loads of lines: about my teeth, about my history as an actor, about my name change... the right just don't actually have a line of attack against me that's political"

No wonder they wouldn’t let journalists in.

Wonder why our journalists never used satellite imagery though…

Yes.

I’m just a woman though so what would I know about anything…

For the past two years, loads of the silent, but nature-obsessed influencers, writers & tv preachers & environmental campaigners have reminded me of that garden scene in #ZoneOfInterest where everyone enjoys nature right in front of them but manages to ignore the massacre over the wall.

People in the nature sector are finally speaking up after staying silent for 2 whole years (and 75 more).

They ignored every single post i made on it even though loads of them follow me. I checked their feeds too. Nothing.

Please now walk the talk, otherwise it’s empty virtue signalling. 🙏

I think this needs to be said.
They preach about saving nature.
A lot of them make money out of speaking up for nature or writing on it.
They won’t protect it without recognising human rights, black rights, racism and European colonialism. Otherwise it’s just #WhitePrivilege & #VirtueSignalling

It's always amazed me how few people understand that we're the bad guys.
Still see so many people talking about Israel as if it's some separate entity, one that has 'made us' do bad things.
And not the core of how we do business, and how we've done it for hundreds of years.

Us Brits collectively still need a huge mindset shift + actions to systematically recognise our colonial history & its ongoing legacy.
We need re-education. Most of us never learned it in school.
Israel’s atrocities largely fall on deaf ears because people look away & don’t join the dots.
An idea:

There may be a ceasefire in Gaza but while all the media talk will be of Israeli hostages, remember that Israel is also illegally occupying the West Bank, murdering, detaining, torturing and abusing Palestinians and stealing their land every day.

Israelis are still murdering Palestinians in the West Bank and Israelis on Telegram still think that’s just great

To me, as an ecologist & environmental scientist, this stuff really should be obvious… but from what I see everywhere, it’s clearly not!

Overheating urban areas are back in the spotlight, and the reason is clear: a lack of greenery, particularly trees.

The 3-30-300 handbook serves as a practical guide for cities and urban areas to address this issue by keeping their environments cool,
How trees work in urban environments 3 trees visible 30% urban forest canopy 300m from nearest green park

I don’t often share my own work publicly or much personal stuff because a lot of the public are just f*king horrible, especially to women.

It feels a bit safer on here compared to the other place though. 🤞🏽

A rare picture of me to say hello, from my little bat cave / witchy* coven / ecology work cupboard.

*witchy = anti-bullshit, inclusive, woke, feminist & scientist - I’m seemingly hated by a lot of men for being these things. Women were burned on bonfires for less.

I’m overjoyed & relieved for Gaza this week. Let’s hope it is the start of a real & lasting peace alongside justice, respect, equality & accountability.
Without all those, peace will not last.

Love to everyone fighting the good fight in movements for change, & to all oppressed people everywhere.

There’s been some inexplicable silence, but all the millions of inspiring acts of love, solidarity & kindness I’ve witnessed during these past 2 years, amid so much horror, I’d have gone mad without seeing that. It feels like we’ve all been desperately trying to hold humanity & each other together.
