Anderson invoking Steve Jobs is very telling to me—these guys so badly want to be tech tastemakers. They have the capability to make some great vehicles, certainly. But just like Apple’s hubris that it could suddenly make cars, GM is acting like it’s mastered software. I don’t see how.

Can’t stand GM’s modern infotainment in any vehicle I’ve used it in. The icons are gibberish, things that should be instantaneous are buried in sub-menus, and as a result of ignoring CarPlay they have the phone integration of a 2009 Scion. But hey, GM always knows best!

The whole song and dance about how EVs need these integrated experiences was always a justification to be the only logo on the screen. That’s all they ever cared about, not actually putting the best interface in front of customers or at the very least respecting them enough to give them the choice.

God I hate the pressure-sensitive buttons on the DS2, I hate them so much. To the point where I only beat Mission 23 in GT4 (the one with the R34s at Test Course) by switching to a third-party pad (in this case, a Jogcon) that didn’t have them.

Here was a guy who wore sunglasses at night— indoors— who wore at a minimum 87% black leather and always an obscure metal band t-shirt; a fit, razor-thin guy whose intense, brooding stare could cause brave men to flee and satellites to de-orbit. He looked like a dark anime character come to life, complete with a half-smoked cigarette dangling from his menacing grin, and it took no imagination at all to worry he had a diamond sharp katana ready at any time to separate the head and body of the poor programmer who missed a half millisecond of timing on a block controller. There was no detail of game design or mechanic that escaped him, no ambiguity in his vision of tightness and quality in the feel of a control or the animation of a character. He was the embodiment of the ideal of the hardest edge of combat design, utterly uncompromising and ruthless.
Also, he was the quickest to break a smile, always ready to make a stupid joke, the first ask after your loved ones and to be sure you were well, the very best of friends, the very kindest of fathers, and a very great human being who I very much fear we will not see the like of again anytime soon. I will miss him gravely.

It’s wild to me that oftentimes the biggest circulators of literal trash are syndicators like MSN. They’re arguably worse than social media because there’s no comment section to call this shit out, and people ascribe authority to it because it seems like it’s vetted by a legit, trusted site.

Last year, CNN ran a “fact check” of Kamala HQ that claimed we were lying for saying Trump’s plan is Project 2025.

Now Trump is outright admitting it’s his plan.

Legacy media failed the country.
