Cyclone #Ditwah sparked chain disaster in #SriLanka. Landfall @Trincomalee brought torrential rain, triggering #landslides in Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Floods drowned Colombo & Gampaha. 69 dead, 34 missing, 18k displaced. Warnings came late too narrow, too little. Multi‑hazard forecasting must evolve.

A report that finds San Clemente can save its beaches using nature-based solutions was presented to city officials hoping to figure out a solution to its shrinking shoreline. The proposed project could have the added benefit of a new, man-made surf break #cawater www.ocregister.com/2025/11/25/s...

Do annual UN climate talks magically fix the climate crisis? No. But this is what consensus-building looks like. And it matters.

#COP30 drove higher collective ambition, set shared rules and put every level of climate action under intense scrutiny.

#COP30 is set to close in two days, and the Brazilian presidency is confident that the gavel will fall on time, or early.️

Such a conclusion would be an outlier: Since 1995, only 4 COPs ended early or on time.

Scientific‑empirical evidence shows #NatureBasedSolutions like oyster reefs enhance #muddy coastal resilience by attenuating hydrodynamic energy, stabilizing soft‑sediment shorelines, supporting biodiversity, a powerful dimension of #CoastalProtection relevant to archipelagic state Fiji. @iisd.org
#ClimateChange disrupts lives and livelihoods, and small island nations like Fiji are especially vulnerable. #NatureBasedSolutions, like oyster farming, offer hope by benefiting people, nature, and local economies.
