Artist/writer/generally creative person. ADHD, anxiety/depression, neurospicy. Pagan. I Will Not Shut Up About fishkeeping, yurt building, tarot, languages, and general DIY stuff - I'm a cornucopia of hyperfixations. I'm bored. Talk to me.

Your unsolicited Welsh word of the day is "colomen, colomennod" - it means "pigeon, pigeons."

I have a few of these background/productivity apps, but I think between the music and overall style, this one might be my favorite. I just wish it had more to it in terms of locations and customization options - hoping they'll keep putting out updates.

@aminus.bsky.social you have to see this
tbh this thing is my president and my god now
RED ALERT - this is my favorite band, ever. I'm broke, but if they've still got those signed LPs by the time I make this month's mortgage, ima nab one...
AI junk is taking over music space... but these are real people, some of the realest and coolest there are, and they need this.
Friends,

Four years ago, we launched a crowdfunding campaign for a new Shearwater album—and you helped us create, promote & distribute an LP we loved, without the support of a label.

We’re doing that again now, for our nearly-complete new album The New World.

Unpopular opinion: if you hate #AI, absolutely the dumbest thing you can do is go after people who're using it transparently. If people can't use it honestly (whether you agree that it's honest or not), they won't stop using it - they'll just try to pass it off as real.
I haven't posted much art recently. I tend to work in "seasons" - I'll do a burst of art, then move on to writing for a while, then whatever else... then circle back to art. Recently, it's been writing. But here's a #WIP I've been slowly working on while "off-season." #art #artsky #coloredpencil

This is actually wild... Keep an eye out for white people creating fake black people whole cloth to force a narrative.

if you have a D senator, we still haven’t seen this point of order.

call now—it can be quick!

"senator ___ must call or suppoint the point of order to remove section 71114's anti-trans medicaid ban. democrats must stand together to protect the right to access medical care."

contact info: reps.fyi
Wyden, the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, says Democrats will raise a point of order to strip the Medicaid ban on gender-affirming care in OBBB: "this is a private choice for adults. It should belong to them."

Literal cages. Not even metaphorical ones. Literal ones.

In 2024 alone, immigrants paid approximately $24 billion into Social Security, despite being ineligible to receive benefits. Eliminating this critical source of revenue not only undermines the program’s stability, it brings it closer to collapse.

And #WeWontGetOverLosingMedicaid Republicans don’t care!
THIS IS WHAT FASCISM LOOKS LIKE:
Disabled Medicaid activists in wheelchairs were just ZIP-TIED and ARRESTED by Capitol Police for protesting inside the Russell Senate Office Building.

Their banner was ripped from their hands. They were fighting for healthcare—and got handcuffs instead.

A pigeon with a bad foot visited yesterday - wouldn't walk on it - so I'm going to see if I can catch it and check it out.
So far: the pigeons are smarter than I am, and all seem to agree that this is sus.
Everybody tells me that I shouldn't move to the tropics, because it's *so hot and humid*, but they don't realize that like... if I don't feel like my fingers are pruning just sitting at my desk... it's not humid enough for me. The weird bugs are just a neat bonus.
Why are matadors so damn hot? Why am I so reproductively devastated by professional bull annoyers?
There is a terrible wizard's curse upon me: wherever I live, wherever I move, whatever happens... There will always, always be a neighbor replacing their roof. All day. For all eternity.

Pride was a riot we're running that shit back

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
AI, and the politics, ethics, disputes, discourse around it, is becoming one of my hyperfixations. I lie awake at night thinking about it. I confess that I hope someone comes at me to argue about it - I have thoughts, but if they're wrong, I want to know how so I can let them go.
Looks like I lost a follower after the post I did about an organization that's working to make AI more environmentally sustainable.
I might be wrong, but I don't think it's problematic to want to try to look for ways to fix what makes AI bad, instead of just writing it off completely.
Welp, now I feel better about all the pens I've gone through... reuniting ink families, one page at a time...

I'm tired of seeing so many posts from people screaming about the problems with AI, but seeing nothing but dead air when it comes to finding solutions (short of "AI abstinence" - which appears to be working about as well as it does in high school sex ed). I want to see more of this:
