BTW this was the no1 family movie we could all agree on every Christmas, I've seen it >30 times. I even started work on a musical of it once with a dance sequence called Larak Tarath where they dance through the chompers while Sir Alex opens the window thingy and they all sing the chant.

Also, for Aussies, the poorer you are, the more climate change you personally experience. For Brits, the RICHER you are, the more you experience (because it bites harder in other places, so it helps have to travel.)

Also British big-C Conservatives do tend to believe in the science and care about small-c conservative things like conservation. So it doesn't surprise me that they are worried about it.

I find it less strange. Tories have their roots in people used to having power and not having to be polite. Labour's roots are in people used to asking nicely. It's not that being entitled (sometimes literally) is good, it's just very helpful if you can point it in the right direction.

Well this is a silly thing to engage him on. NYC Mayor isn't in charge of foreign policy so who cares what he thinks about it? His job is COL, transit, housing, etc.

Car makers won't retool to meet (a lack of) regs that'll be overturned in 3y. Plus, market fundamentals in CA are still all about EVs.

The admin will have negative climate impact doing this, but in the longer term they're just reorganizing deckchairs on the Titanic of internal combustion vehicles.
