Little Nemo in Slumberland by Winsor McCay from August 19, 1906.

The Princess decides to take Nemo swimming in the nearby ocean of rose water but first she introduces him to the water acrobats that will be entertaining them later. They then swim to a floating pavilion where they encounter a group of mermaids. Nemo stumbles off the pavilion and wakes up hanging off the side of his bed.
