yeah, the newest release lets you play the "original" playstation version, but only with the WotL localization. that was the first thing i looked up when it was announced, and, welp, back to the good old ps1 disc

not to mention the WotL translation is just, bad. for all its alleged faults, the original ps1 localization has an immediate and visceral quality that WotL lacks. miluda is desperately fighting against someone who sees her as subhuman; milleuda is arguing philosophy with a conservative on jubilee

i don't mean to be combative. it's just frustrating to see kimmel inspire so much spilt ink, while trans people get entirely overlooked, during a week of incredibly frightening anti-trans escalation.

i swear he's been getting wall to wall coverage, while no one seems to even remember what's happening to trans people. both are things are signs of creeping authoritarianism, sure, but one of them is gonna be totally, materially fine despite what happened, and it's not trans people

jimmy kimmel gets a fair few paragraphs--i would hope you could also spare a few for a vulnerable, highly vilified minority group, who are at far greater risk than a wealthy late-night tv host. i mean, they're literally trying to designate "transgender ideology" as terrorism now

while i agree with this sentiment broadly speaking, it worries me quite a bit that this article doesn't even mention the administration's ever escalating anti-trans fervor. especially because it's been an animating force in the wake of the shooting, which trans people are being blamed for.
