i keep spending forever searching for the "a lot of Button" image again so im gonna put it on bsky so i can find it easier later... maybe.
A presentation slide showing proposed control schemes for Virtua Fighter. One proposal is labeled "a lot of Button" and demonstrates command inputs being inputted by sliding your hand over a huge array of arcade buttons.

draft TGM4 ruleset for frostys. kinda want to bump quota up to 300 points but I'm worried about timeliness, esp with controller setup being an unknown factor
== Game Rules ==
- FT2 rounds per game, FT2 games per set
- Quota set to 200 levels / 2'40" timer (default)
- First set takes place on Shiranui VS. Loser of the set may counterpick a different mode
- Both Standard and TGM control types allowed
- All USB controllers and keyboards allowed provided they are recognized by Steam / TGM4

== Custom Settings ==
- All game settings at default, except:
-- Player vs. Player Settings - Garbage: TYPE 2
-- Next display style in operation type TGM: TGM
-- Display input during game: ON
- Players may mutually agree to toggle Diagonal upperward input and Diagonal downward input

sajam slam but for puyo sounds p cool
the discourse has been the same as always it's just really funny that the asuka gm person was posting through it a few days ago
my favorite genre of tgm4 player are the ones with seething contempt for the game and/or themselves
let's go better next time
Tetris the Grand Master 4: Absolute Eye (tetris that makes good at tetris..? ++//)

With the addition of the x.1 modes, this is now the best TGM game to recommend by sheer virtue of accessibility and presentation.

But in terms of coherent vision and skill measuring MAN is this game a complete mess.

Since the wonderful @zan.puyo.us is currently running a Puyo AND a Tetris event, I’d like to make a special petition to be the Head TO for PPT2 Mixed Vs to ensure it can stay in the Vortex Gallery lineup at Frosty Faustings this year.
Pretty much comes down to aesthetic preference. PPT2 Puyo Only events tend to outperform PPC in both entrant count and viewership.
not running mixed vs this year because I don't want to die running 3 brackets. still got time to volunteer to run it or swap though
Your game is missing from the chilly vibes?

I'm running both PPT2 and TGM at VG this Frostys! This is the first year we've ever done solo brackets for both Puyo and Tetris at VG, so if this is what you like to see, get your butts in those seats and sign up!

hmm, not sure about that one. controller input got standardized to xinput (steam input still available ofc) and multiple keyboards are allowed now though
im TOing it so I'm happy to workshop a non cursed ruleset lol.

input mapping is slightly less cursed after the CWTC patch too

how do you map out future chains? when I'm making build order decisions I'm comparing it against visual models of the form+variations in my head
out of curiosity, are there any puyo players who have aphantasia? "image training" is regarded as an integral stepping stone towards high level play so I'm wondering what strategies people have come up with in lieu of that.

recently learned that one of the best tgm invis players has the condition

Most importantly, here's the current Global Points standings heading into October! Activity has continued to be an important factor for some of the players clinging onto top 12 spots, while some players have broken into the top 12 with strong performances throughout the month!
The standings for the top 16 players of the Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series (PGRS for short) heading into the month of October, listing the players, their home country, and the current number of Global Points they have. To the left of every player's name is a symbol, representing whether they have gone up (in green), gone down (in red), or stayed the same position (in yellow), along with the number of spots they went up or down. There are two lines separating players in the top 16, with one in-between the players ranked 4th and 5th, representing the cutoff for receiving a bye on the first day of the Other Region Finals, and another in-between the players ranked 12th and 13th, representing the cutoff for qualifying for the Other Region Finals. The rankings are as follows:
(=) 1. Void (Brazil) - 75 points
(+1) 2. Yoshi100_Aus (Australia) - 65 points
(-1) 3. TBP_Rick (Taiwan) - 52 points
(+9) 4. anameru (USA) - 37 points
(=) 5. aclivtak (Taiwan) - 37 points
(-2) 6. Hiku (France) - 34 points
(=) 7. DdR_Dan (USA) - 33 points
(-2) 8. Villain.R (South Korea) - 26 points
(=) 9. neruu.tsu (Germany) - 24 points
(-2) 10. FriMeka (France) - 23 points
(-1) 11. Rider24 (USA) - 23 points
(+4) 12. Koopary (USA) - 22 points
(-1) 13. Wizzkidwas (UK) - 19 points
(+1) 14. Malxx125 (USA) - 19 points
(-1) 15. Angel OF Diamond (France) - 16 points
(-5) 16. Zanyu Gai (USA) - 16 points
There's a disclaimer in the bottom that states: "Ties are broken based on the number of events played in).
its unfortunate an english-speaking APAC-based puyo tourney org never managed to get off the ground. that region is completely starved for PGRS point opportunities that take place during sane hours
four yakuzas.
