I'm sorry for the long ass thread, and I don't mean to make the whole Puyo fanbase seem like this, but this has been something on my mind for the longest time and now that this is the first thing I see in a Puyo fandom space, I knew I had to get my thoughts out there and say I am not ok with this

And if that's what we're going to be doing, then I'm done associating with the Puyo Puyo fandom anymore. I'll still enjoy some of the games and characters on my own time but I don't want to be part of a fandom space that actively pushes back feedback towards their games.

From what I know, the user didn't actually do anything to harm people, they didn't insult anyone that liked PPT2, they just made their disdain for the game known through some videos and now we're silencing criticism like this.

It always seems like the Puyo Puyo fandom has this notion that you can't be upset with what Sega's doing with Puyo because they're afraid the series will never get localized again or something like that.

This isn't even what this is about anymore. This is just blantantly silencing criticism.

And the first thing I see when I check on the Puyo Puyo community is just a dogshit meme calling out the guy for criticizing PPT2.

Then when the guy actually responds to the dogshit meme in question, they get hit with the old "keep your opinion to yourself buddy". Like, are we actually being fr????

I don't really like PPT2 from more of a casual point of view, but that user wasn't afraid to criticize PPT2 because "Sega might not ever localize another entry ever again" or because "we should be grateful". They (presumably) want the series to HAVE GOOD GAMES.

I'd like to go on record by saying that, while I don't fully agree with their takes on the game as they mainly only talk about the game from a competitive POV, they're one of the only known users in the space that actually criticized Sega for some of the worse decisions they made with the game.

Just went on r/puyopop and like the first thing I saw was Puyo Puyo fans dogpiling one specific user for saying that PPT2 was low effort and with that I've completely lost all hope in this fandom.

If this is the behavior that we're showing to people for criticizing a game, I want no part in it.

Without a doubt in my mind it would have to be Mega Man X3

I genuinely could not stand playing this. It was genuinely one of the most boring and tedious games I've ever played in my life with terrible level design, weapons, bosses; nothing that makes a good Mega Man game is remotely present here.
