The NYC MTA is transitioning to OMNY tap-and-pay cards, rendering swipe cards obsolete by June 2026.

OMNY is notorious for tracking riders through our devices, digital wallets, and credit card top-ups, and the MTA is besties with the NYPD. MTA Surveillance is a given.

A reminder for the rest of us. Korea has been under ceasefire for 70 years, technically still at war, and still occupied by the U.S. Empire.

I currently recommend against uploading your biometrics to OpenAI’s new social feed app, Sora.

Sora’s Cameo option has the user upload their own biometrics to create voice/video Deepfakes of themselves. The user can also set their preferences to allow others to create Deepfakes of each other, too.

Long before this deal, I recommended that users audit their TikTok use. Oracle had already started hosting U.S. TT user data on its servers a while back.

I do not doubt that the platform will be further farmed for user data without consideration or consent.
