theory: dk bananza would’ve originally released for arcade dk’s 40th anniversary back in 2021 if they kept the original switch 1 hardware development but unfortunately had to miss it to develop for switch 2

i think i only hated them because i was 100%ing Game Number 14 In A 20 Game Long Marathon That Had Lasted Upwards of 2 Months At That Point

but now thats behind me and i can enjoy the game for what it is, green stars are mostly harmless filler at best.

honestly i think if they did have a smash game with ultimate’s roster, trophies, a full cutscene wide story mode, all star mode, events, smash run and everything and the kitchen sink

you’d think it’d be a more methodical platformer focused on taking your time ala dkc, pac man or crash but since bubsy runs so fast the game expects you to rush through the levels and that doesnt? fit? bubsy’s moveset?

bubsy’s moveset in this game feels like it would be pretty decent in a 3d collectathon spyro/sonic hybrid game focused on exploration and momentum but instead is in a 2d stop and go platformer and cant take a hit worth shit.
