This is going to be a big day for fans of awkward silences.

Except she sent it to said bride, and not me.

Never one to avoid chaos, my mother has caused a certain amount of trouble by sending me a message containing words such "bridezilla" and "fuck's sake" and so forth.

The Aged Parent and I are off to a wedding on Saturday to bless the nuptials of an old family friend. The lady said friend is marrying has, it is alleged, been quite hard work and a number of texts have been exchanged around the matter by extended family.

Dumping hot seawater back into the sea generally causes ecological changes. For data centre cooling, it's quite a lot of heat you're talking about.

At a certain scale, the limiting factor is power supply. When you need to take a gigawatt of power off the grid you have a lot of rules to follow.

I don't have the most difficult needs as a user, but I've run Linux as my main desktop for 25 years now and I haven't had a working Windows install since 2008. There's a lot I don't love about Mint but we co-exist.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

As far as I can see it was weight that tipped early development in favour of petrol. Electric vehicles were ideal for local haulage (and electric milk floats lasted nearly as long as milkmen) but if you wanted a sporty little thing to run around the countryside batteries were not it.

The same thought experiment applies to gas distribution - when there's not enough volume to keep the pipes paid for, what happens?

What I think people are underpricing is a crash. For example, petrol stations have to sell enough petrol to cover their fixed costs. As demand declines, petrol stations blink out - and everyone local suddenly has an incentive to switch. You could see petrol cars die very suddenly.
