Avoiding reality one-ish fandom at a time. Currently OFMD and GO obsessed, but DW/Sandman are just waiting in the wings. Also, theatre!! 🎭 Old. She/her. Biromantic, grey ace.

She was! I've been a huge fan of hers since she was the nurse in & Juliet. Added bonus, she is the loveliest person when you meet her.
Just realised I'm seeing Melanie La Barrie in two completely different shows this weekend, and I'm very much looking forward to it!
Wow! What is time? Seems I'm being haunted by all my old fandoms this week.
Well, Minnie Driver was really rather awesome in Every Brilliant Thing. A serious subject, but dealt with in a way that involved humour, joy, and a lot of audience participation. I did a proper double take when At Last was one of the songs used though. 🤦‍♀️
I've never seen the original films, but I love the tv series. One of the first shows where I travelled internationally to go to cons.
And suddenly I am in my feels about another of my forever fandoms. Now, if we're talking (really) old guys, Highlander certainly delivers! And yes, I remain a Methos appreciator.
I am forcing my friend, whose mom was in Highlander fandom and wrote Highlander fanfic back in the day, to explain Highlander to me. I will be updating this thread with my findings.

Former Superman actor Henry Cavill was injured while training for the Highlander reboot, delaying the film.
And let missing Methos and Duncan hours commence!!
My Ollie Tompsett loving heart just skipped a beat at the lead casting for The Greatest Showman premiere next year. Guess I'm planning a trip to Bristol... maybe with some pirate-y exploration thrown in!
Burned forever into my brain! High fives were involved.
So tired of this shit, especially as I have so many great friends as a direct result of being in a fandom!
It really was. They sold far too many autographs and basically tried to make it his problem. I got a good photo op, but only because one or other of us blinked in the first take, and the retake we had time to pose properly.
I love when the cast are relaxed and just having fun with it.
It was a shame, because I loved being back in New York.
I only did a couple of autographs, but yes, I had a much better time with those.
Sadly too many con organisers are greedy and massively overbook guests. Then you wind up paying a fortune for a really shitty experience. Not pirates, but I'll never forget how badly MCM treated Sebastian Stan. They had a go at him for wanting to actually interact with people. 😡
Definitely one of the worst con experiences I've had, and that whole area downstairs was so cramped and unpleasant to be in.
That sounds like a much better experience all around, for everyone.
ECCC or RCCC I'd do again in a heartbeat, but I just didn't enjoy the experience of NYCC at all.
I hate the ones where the staff literally push you at the guest and the photo gets taken before you have time to even pose properly. I've had a few of those over the years.
It's like Basingstoke was an absolute shit show in terms of organisation, but I came away with some of my favourite photoshoots with the cast.
Rose City was definitely more fun. I'm not sure I'd ever want to do NYCC again.
Exactly. There was plenty that would have been permissible to talk about with just a bit of thought.
