We finally took some photos of the tennis courts with the new LED floodlights! They use less electricity than the old halogen ones, lowering our carbon footprint. Floodlights cost £2 per half hour on top of usual fees (so £4 per hour for members and £11 per hour for non-members).
Another thank you! We were very touched by all the lovely comments and reactions to our post yesterday about gaining the Silver Award. Thank you so much, it really means a lot to us.
🏃♂️🌟 A Huge Thank You to Yateley Road Races Group! 🌟🏃
We’re delighted to share that the Yateley Road Races Group has once again made a generous donation of £500 to the Mayor’s Charity Fund. This continued support is a wonderful example of civic generosity and community spirit.
The Jewish festival of Sukkot (aka Sukkos, Feast of Tabernacles or Feast of Booths) begins at sunset today. Sukkot celebrates the harvest and also commemorates the exodus from Egypt. The festival lasts 7 days and Jews build a sukkah, usually a tent or similar, and "dwell" there.
We are incredibly pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Local Council Award Scheme- Silver Award by the National Association of Local Councils. More information on our website yateley-tc.gov.uk/news/we-have...
Sunset tonight marks the start of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Also known as the Day of Atonement and occurring on the 10th day of the Jewish month Tishrei, Yom Kippur is a day of fasting and prayers.
Sunset today marks the start of Rosh Hashanah, literally "head of the year", the Jewish New Year which starts on the first day of the Jewish month Tishrei.
Shanah Tovah Umetukah! Have a Good and Sweet Year!
The tennis courts will be closed 8th-12th September 2025 for the installation of new LED floodlights! The new floodlights will be brighter, ensuring the courts can be used safely at night, and will use less electricity than the current ones, lowering our carbon footprint and reducing running costs.
The office will be closed today while we attend the VJ 80 Day service at the War Memorial today. Please join us for wreath laying and the national two minute silence from around 11:50.
We are very excited to announce that an InPost locker has been installed at The Tythings! We have been told it will go live at the end of this week or beginning of next week. There will also be another installed on our land elsewhere, which we will announce soon!

Calling all volunteers! We will be watering the community orchard tomorrow, Tuesday 15th July, at 9:30 and we would love some help. No need to call us, just turn up at the orchard :)
