Interestingly Barbara was only 26-27 when she met the Doctor, while Ruby was 19; a far smaller age difference than you might think.
Of course Jacqueline Hill was allready 32 when she first played Barbara, while Millie Gibson was instead 19, which explains this impression. 🙂
