Back for the first(?) time! Weekly Shogakukan Edition is now Strict Algorithm LLC.

As noted before, not much will change --this is to be legally distinct from Shogakukan. We'll still be doing threads, contests, and translations as always.

This is a good lineup! I wouldn’t have thought Golgo but that’s got some name recognition.

I’d throw in Call of the Night and maybe Sleepy Princess too, I’d only because the former has a style that’d fit in to HT/BoxLunch and the latter has endless merch opportunities.

It was so exciting when we got the word about this! Hopefully if it goes well we can get Detective Conan and other franchises in stores and online! I’ve long liked the designs from BoxLunch, so agreed this is a win all around!

There’s no way to tell how much stock they have saved up, but it would be great if the manga can run even just a little while when the anime is airing in January. I assume it’ll be two cours again (there’s enough material) so they have time.

Notice from issue #46 of Weekly Shonen Sunday indicating that the extended hiatus for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is to adjust writer Kanehito Yamada and artist Tsukasa Abe’s schedule due to the duo falling ill.

When the series is set to return it will be announced in WSS.

Before Mikadono, there was kabuki…with a twist! Aya Hirakawa's “Kunisaki Izumo no Jijō” ran in WSS from 2010 to 2014.

In the series, Izumo is a male playing female roles in traditional kabuki theater, but his troupe is struggling with financial issues…

Kashimaya, a seafood retailer in Japan with a main location in Niigata (Rumiko Takahashi’s hometown!) is collaborating with Urusei Yatsura and producing limited edition merch!

The collaboration begins October 15th.

Voice actor Yuichi Nakamura (Gojo, Badeni) has recently purchased #Detectiveconan!

But not one or two volumes, no. He bought all 107 volumes of the ongoing series at once.🤯

He’s no stranger to Conan, as he played Ai Haibara’s father Atsushi Miyano.
