This should be a fantastic hour of guided writing on the theme A Moment of Silence, with poet and editor @lisadmkelly.bsky.social , exploring the idea that silence can be as important as speech in communication, and responding in poetry, life writing, fiction or a mixture!

Fantastic to see so many people joining us here at Bluesky! We love featuring new Writing Room writers on our blog, so do have a look at the latest post, by upcoming poet and storyteller, Alex Murdoch. He starts "I was never the most expressive person in the world..." ! 😀 💙 ✏️

Yes I LOVED this book of yours so much! Amazing to think it was 25 years ago 😊
Great new blog post on our website by new writer Kathryn Bodenham - blog.writingroom.org.uk

“Everyone has a book in them.”
I’ve heard that so many times. Could it be true? Could I be harbouring the Next Great Novel? If I was, I was keeping it so well hidden, I didn’t know it was there…

Enjoying Bluesky and the friendly chat! Can anyone recommend more people to follow for further book and writing related conversations? Fiction, poetry, memoir, comps, prizes, publishers. Thanks!
This idea made me smile so much!
How will you begin to make these come true with the objectives you set for the coming week?
What are your hopes for your writing across the coming year?
What three words do you choose for your writing in 2024, thinking positively?
What three words typify your writing in 2023?
How did you feel as 2023 turned into 2024?
Thought I'd share the process questions for this morning's Start Your Writing Week - the first of the term and of 2024.
Do answer them if you want to!

Is January 1st different for you to any other 1st of the month?
Goodness. Yes forgot you were in Norwich not London! Although the path across Alexandra Palace looked like your photo two days ago!
YES!! Joe Bloggs speaks Spanish, and I speak French. Joe Bloggs likes Bluesky, and so do I. Joe Bloggs and I like this title... (And so do I in fact!)
Writing Roomers take note! It's always inspiring to see someone getting an acceptance. Really worth sending your work out because you never know!
Woke up to my first acceptance of 2024! 🙌🏻

It’s been a while since I’ve submitted anything since I took a hiatus while focusing on my recent novel’s release, so I’m thrilled to be starting the New Year off strong.
