Breaking Back

Wang Yafan almost quit tennis a few years ago, seriously contemplating the decision during the COVID lockdown.

But, after taking a break from 2020-2022, she rediscovered her love of the game and has come back strong.

Now healthy again, she outlasts Maddison Inglis in Hong Kong.

embodied and pretending to belong?
My small frame screamed the pain of this lost spirit,
a woman neither dead nor of the living."

Elena Rybakina has withdrawn from Tokyo.

“I’m very sorry I can’t play today. I’ve been having problems with my back this week & can’t play 100%. I’m disappointed that my fans will not see me today but I hope to see you next year.”

Hopefully she’s 100% for the WTA Finals.

Rest & recover.

It's Happening!

After racing through the ITF & WTA 125 ranks this year, Tereza Valentova is now inside the top 100 and ready to take on the WTA Tour.

The 18yo pulls off a VERY impressive, 6-4, 6-1, win over #3 seed Elise Mertens to reach the quarterfinals in Osaka.

Just so we’re clear: Emma Raducanu winning the US Open *from qualifying* WITHOUT DROPPING A SET (that’s 10 matches, for the uninitiated) is THEE most impressive one tournament result in the sport’s history.
