I was a docent for breeding shorebirds on Alcatraz. Snowy egrets, western gulls and Brandt's and pelagic cormorants. If you visit Alcatraz, check them out, though season is mostly Feb-June. Mom and snowy chicks!

thanks, Rob! I worked as a docent on Alcatraz and shorebirds now use The Rock as breeding grounds...so it's easy to get up close and personal with the snowys, especially. Also Western Gulls, cormorants and night herons.
