It’s got the Brassavola habit so it’s floppy and crazy unliked the upright dignity of Laelia. Makes for a bit of a puzzle putting it on a shelf!

Gongora! The Genus that got me REALLY into orchids. Love these crazy flowers that look exactly like miniature dragons. This is Gongora grossa; smells of crushed allspice berries and sandalwood!
Cattleya maxima caerulea ‘Hector’ blooming now. For the second out of the three years I’ve grown it, blooming well out of season. Anyone care to offer up a reason why? Oh well!
I have never seen one in bloom in real life; moved from the west to far-western North Carolina into a forest packed with Kalmia. Missed the flowering completely due to a hilarious mix up in planning and moved away before they came into bloom the second year… some day lol
