Here is my orchid mantis, Örkkidea! He is an old man at this point, and considering how slowly he reacted to the fly I gave him yesterday, possibly going blind as well. I also had a female, Mörkö, but she unfortunately passed on the weekend, thats why it says mantises on plural.

I think they meant as in more colorful since its usually the male birds that have the brighter colors
