President Bone Spurs — the grotesque SOB who attacked us — is repulsive and a traitor to his country.
As a vet, I am long past disgusted that my service meant NOTHING.

At No Kings this Saturday, I'll welcome independents & conservatives who are growing uncomfortable with their earlier votes and are ready to stand up to fight for democracy and freedom.

We don't have to agree on everything, but agreeing that fascism is evil is a start. We need all hands on deck!

Trump’s threat to invoke the Insurrection Act isn’t new, but it’s getting louder and from all directions!

We had years of warnings.
He told us what he’d do. Project 2025 laid it out, but too many shrugged.

How much is “enough” for everyone to start getting loud with one voice before it’s too late?

Michigan Democrats stood strong in the recent state budget battle and our public school districts landed in positive territory after threats of drastic cuts by the MI House GOP.

My State Rep. @reggiemillermi.bsky.social got ⬆ funds for every school district in HD31 - that's great news for our kids!
reggiemillermi.bsky.social
We worked hard for a school budget that increases investment in our kids, teachers, and schools. I’m happy to share that every school in District 31 will see increased investment from this budget.

I’m proud to have delivered $3.4 million in direct investments for our district — including $2.5 million to help Hazel Park purchase a new ladder fire truck. I also worked with Senator Paul Wojno to secure $900,000 for upgrades to Warren’s Public Safety Dispatch Center.

Still up in the air about who to blame for the shutdown? A couple weeks from now when you go through open enrollment for health insurance, if you see a huge increase, that was the GOP's plan for you.

Democrats are standing up to protect all of us from budget-busting premiums and loss of coverage.

Swear her in! Adelita Grijalva was elected by the citizens of her district to represent them in the US House. Without her seated, AZ CD7 is left without THEIR voice.

Johnson doesn't have to like the results. He just has to do what's right. It's what he WOULD have done if the Republican had won.
whitchmi.bsky.social
The 23% "unsure" are a few weeks away from being "very sure". The sticker shock they'll experience during open enrollment should solidify it. It's possible that the GOP attacks on Medicaid, Medicare, and the ACA could also spin into negative affects on employer-based plans. No one is safe from this.

I'm proud of the way Democrats have come together on this shutdown. If people don't realize it now, they will as open enrollments ensue: Dems are standing strong to protect healthcare costs from going sky high while Republicans fight to stick it to everyday Americans so they can protect the wealthy.

In case you got lost in the steaming pile of bullshit Speaker Johnson’s been shoveling, the shutdown fight Democrats are holding the line on is about healthcare for hard-working Americans.

Leader Jeffries isn’t flinching, isn’t wobbling; he’s been consistent and hasn’t wavered on this issue.

Trump loves this shutdown. He's free to hurt innocent people just for the way they voted. He can play God with people's lives, their jobs, their health, their financial stability.

He absolutely doesn't care at all if we live or die if he can get vengeance for every petty slight he's "suffered".

What happens when Republicans shut down the government…

They break things. Take thing away. Fire fed employees simply because they’re Dems. Refuse to pay our military.

Literal party poopers…

No one WANTS a shutdown, but this one will prevent the US from barreling toward an even bigger disaster: Millions of Americans who can no longer afford healthcare insurance & therefore, healthcare at all.

Dems are holding out to protect everyone from the devastating effects this would have.

Mike Johnson: “We’re barreling toward one of the longest shutdowns in American history”

Oh man, if only the party that controls EVERY branch of government could do something like oh idk not let our insurance prices triple?? 🧐
whitchmi.bsky.social
They all should. The number of people flying through them who are sane, sentient human beings, not MAGA Republicans is huge and no one wants to hear Noem's propaganda. Going through an airport sucks enough without that.

The farmers I know work hard and want to sell their crops at fair prices in top markets, not watch it rot in the fields.

Bailouts don't come close to covering losses. Family farmers are subject to depression, bankruptcy, and suicide. Giant corporate agribusinesses then buy them out for pennies.
whitchmi.bsky.social
They get bailouts when Republican administrations destroy their markets/pricing. I know many farmers and they don't want bailouts. They work very hard and want sell what they grow, not watch it rot. Bailouts usually fail to meet their losses, leading to depression, bankruptcies, and suicides.
whitchmi.bsky.social
They don't want bailouts, they want open markets where they can sell their grains and ag products for the best prices. Many farmers "feed us" but most of us aren't eating soybeans and field corn for dinner. Our abundance used to allow them to sell overseas without impacting US food supplies.

Tariffs have left farmers in financial distress!

Soybean exports to China dropped 39% by volume to 5.9 million metric tons at a value of 51% to $2.5 billion, robbing farmers of billions of dollars'

Californians can play a huge role in preserving the US as a constitutional republic by voting YES on Prop 50!

If we're ever going to get the MAGA stench out of our country, we need to play hardball. Then we can rewrite the rules so every American has fair voting rights and a vote that counts!
