It is, and I knew you would be! The nice lady on the counter, Sorcha, said a photo to mark the occasion was absolutely necessary. The photo doesn't show it but this was the 'Literary' section.😊

I mean 'play on' with the typewriter - there was no paper and I'm not sure there was an ink ribbon either. Didn't stop people though. 😊

Indoor photo by permission of the bookshop staff (specifically to show The Two Roberts) - photos are not allowed inside, and what a relief that was. The atmosphere was too lovely to waste behind a screen - so good to sit with pen and paper. #writingcommunity #amwriting

One of the loveliest bookshops, especially the library up beneath the 1600s beams, with an antique typewriter in a cubby for folks to play on and a table to sit and scrawl a few lines. Open windows looked out over the Seine. Interesting selections, inc @damianbarr.bsky.social's recent release. 😊
A two-storey bookshop in the marvellous Shakespeare and Co bookshop in Paris. Colourful books fill the shelves at reachable height, include Damian Barr's The Two Roberts. Photo by Xander Sable, by permission of the bookshop. The very famous frontage of Shakespeare and Co bookshop in Paris, a vibrant, atmospheric old place. The signage and window surrounds are in dark green, and the windows are filled with books. Chalkboards to either side record historic descriptions of the store, and one has a lovely drawing of a cat. A long queue stands at the door. Photo by Xander Sable.

Please keep us updated for the recording? I'd be very interested to listen. Hope the event tomorrow goes really well!

Aaand the opposite fence now has long grass and I could see tunnels there too. Hopefully we'll get another hedge in there, for even more sheltered vole habitat. 😊

Spectacularly cute. 😍 Beautiful little animals - that's why I was sad about/didn't believe hedge-planting instructions about keeping voles out. How could such a cute little beastie damage a hedge! 😆So I ignored it. Glad I did - and left their tussocky tunnels for them to scuttle through safely!

OOOOOHHHH! Thanks, Ian - that's just delightful! SO cute. 😀

Oohhh I've had a fondness for AG since Professor Renfrew taught us about him in the second year. Strange to see it indoors, oddly - but lovely to see the outdoors brought in. Thanks for the tip-off!

That is an extremely rational bias, Mirie it is while sumer ilast, eh.

😊 Tbh I find it really hard to settle to anything when it's still light. As weird as that sounds. Much as Autumn/Winter make me feel awful, I do get more writing done. On the other hand, maybe really long Summer evenings sitting outside to work...? 🌞

GMT+2 is actually rather disorientating. Quite hard to even think about going to bed when it's still light at 23:00. But I do agree that the clocks going back in the Winter is simply disastrous.

Good luck with it all - it's such a nice idea. I'll keep an ear out!
wellmanneredxs.bsky.social
Hurray! This is good to hear. 💚
wellmanneredxs.bsky.social
Absolutely - the very best sort of fighting. We were very lucky to have her. 💚
wellmanneredxs.bsky.social
Yep! It was so encouraging to see! 😀 I'd have loved to see an actual vole of course, but seeing their little homes and runways was really interesting. 🥰
wellmanneredxs.bsky.social
What a gorgeous idea - will you do another one? Looking forward to seeing the anthology come out!

Ugh, yes. A brilliant, and heartbreaking image @beziostudio.bsky.social

How is she doing now? Has it healed again? 🤞💚

Sending big hugs. It's so hard to lose one of the brightest of lights - but with JG, her light is like the candles at Greek Easter, that one light passing illumination to everyone who touches it and passes it on. A light like that doesn't go out, you know? 🕯️💚

This is just such a beautiful picture. 💚
wellmanneredxs.bsky.social
This is just perfection. I *need* this to be a book! 😍
wellmanneredxs.bsky.social
Ooohhh this needs to be a bigger story with beautiful illustrations throughout! 🙏
