🔹 Margaret Jull Costa (b. 1949) – An award-winning translator known for bringing Portuguese and Spanish literature to English readers, including works by José Saramago and Javier Marías.
🔹 Charlotte Guest (1812–1895) – A Welsh scholar who translated the Mabinogion, an essential collection of medieval Welsh legends, preserving a key part of Celtic heritage.
🔹 Constance Garnett (1861–1946) – She introduced English readers to Russian literary giants like Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Chekhov, making their works widely accessible.
