All of Anna's podcasts are great, but this one really is a must-listen...

Interview with Eleanor Johnson is LIVE! This episode feels like a big one, a heavy one. Scream With Me gives you lots to think about, lots to feel. We talk about this, how it feels to see the ERA fail to pass, how it feels to see our plight play out on screen, and more (1/3 🧵).

Author interview with @talkscaredpod.bsky.social is LIVE! We chat about Good Boy, fighting the good fight, love stories in horror, and of course, Ted. I love this story so much, and I’m so fortunate to know someone like Neil, a powerful story teller and a wonderful soul. Links to listen:

Censorship is so 1984. Read for your rights.

Today kicks off #BannedBooksWeek, and this year's theme reminds us that the right to read belongs to all of us, that censorship has no place in contemporary society, and that we must defend our rights.

Had a great time talking all things horror with @paultremblay.bsky.social last night at Centerville Library :)

Many spooky book recommendations were given!

All writing advice is an author going, “Hey, this worked for me, so I’m sharing it in case it works for you.” That’s cool. That could be useful to someone. On the other hand, advice presented as a “rule” or as something you “must” do is stuff I think you can ignore.

Cover for Stephen Graham Jones' AFTER THE PEOPLE LIGHTS HAVE GONE OFF. It features one of those old-timey lightbulb in the middle of the page, glowing yellow...oh hell, looking closer, this lightbulb doubles as a skull. Sleep tight!

I'm reading Haunted Ecologies by @coreyfarrenkopf.bsky.social, and "Mother's Wolves" is one of those stories that speaks right to my soul.

I just met Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and she thanked me, ME for writing. I’m just fighting back tears here-but my goodness an honor. I shook her hand, told her who I was and thanked her immensely for her service and being an inspiration.

She told all of us “Libraries are a sanctuary.”

One of the things I find hardest about writing is the knowledge that whatever scene I choose, however I attempt to accomplish something, there was definitely a better choice out there in some alternate timeline that I didn't lay my hands on in this one.

In the audience of a Tremblay event was a guy with a sunny disposition. He signed a book for someone and I noted the name Edenville. I've met Sam twice more and read two fantastic works. He's also been a tremendous help as I try to string words into story. Cheers to another trip to Renfield!

This is filmmaker Glenn McQuaid. We wrote a queer killer hand movie called THE RESTORATION AT GRAYSON MANOR. We’re having our world premiere this weekend at the 20th Annual Fantastic Fest. We’re having our last chat before heading to Texas. See you in Austin, filmgoers! #fantasticfest
