The CJEU has declined to fast track a second batch of questions referred from Italian courts related to the Italy/Albania asylum deal. So in the short term the issue is up to politics - if the EU wants to pass an emergency asylum law or ordinary legislation to bring forward parts of the asylum pact.
In Geneva today 🇨🇭 to present an ongoing research with my colleague Francesca Bandini, on another CJEU hot potato: role of effective judicial protection in CFSP in the light of the recent KS and KD cases, whether the result is a coherent and complete system of remedies (spoiler: our answer is no)
