how am i to know the baseline normal that the meds are supposed to be taking me to? when do i know when i've been successfully anti-depressed. what signs am i looking out for? have i been there all along and this is as good as it gets? because god that's a grim thought.
i see people posting about seasonal depression and get jealous. like damn, you have times of the year when you're *not* depressed? what's that like?
are there people who exist who actually *want* to be alive, rather than just manage to tolerate it? or does everyone secretly wish not to wake up?
one of those days where i'm wondering if the anti-depressants seem not to work because i'm not actually depressed. maybe everyone just feels like this, and it's impossible to tell. it's like colours, ain't it? how can i know the red you see is the red i see? maybe i'm normal, and just bad at living

WHEN THERE’S TREASURE BEHIND THE WATERFALL: Oh wow. Yes, very clever! Waterfall treasure! No one’s ever done that before. Lazy jackass

WHEN THERE’S NO TREASURE BEHIND THE WATERFALL: Wow. Too stuck-up to put treasure there huh? Too much of a fucking ICONOCLAST for that? Piece of shit. FUCK you
I haven't had working internet for two and a half months and it's really driven home how little I actually do for entertainment that doesn't rely on an internet connection. I'm losing my fucking mind. There's only so many hours a day I can sleep to pass time.
I'm still proud of this item name/description lmao. It's a bow which tracks how many kills it gets in the time between letting the arrow fly and getting killed myself. It's Christmas themed so the arrow has a little gift tag on it.
A screenshot of an item - the "Festive Huntsman" - from Team Fortress 2. A bow wrapped in Christmas lights, it fires an arrow with a gift tag attached. The item's name is "The Late Delivery", and its description is "Post: humorously delivered, posthumously". A statistic tracker notes that 52 of its 3,020 kills are "posthumous kills".
Huh! Learnt something today. I've always associated it with British English and Polari but it's older than that!
Do Americans use the word nosh. I don't believe that for a second.
Yeah "have you considered just feeling differently about your problems? Feeling bad about bad things happened to you is a you problem" is such fucking shitty, gaslighty advice
It's kind of funny that this is an obvious joke, a ridiculous pattern of thought that no one is capable of, and yet it is what the NHS will recommend 100% of the time, regardless of your mental health condition, in "cognitive behavioural therapy"
Me: I just don't understand why I can't just out-think my anxiety and emotions and simply react and respond in the most ideal way every single time and never feel bad

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
Does anyone know how to solve the "Your device isn’t part of the Netflix household for this account" problem on Netflix? My partner and I are in the same house on the same wi-fi but I suddenly can't use Netflix. @netflix.com

Heard a song the other day and was like "Ah yeah I recognise that, pretty sure it was on the Burnout Revenge soundtrack". Anyway I looked it up and the song came out in 2023.

Listen to this and tell me it's not the most "On a Burnout soundtrack" song you've ever heard youtu.be/HZnNt9nnEhw

google will push all these garbage ai trailers directly to your news feed on phones as well. but because the title is usually like "Popular Series: The Movie - 2025 NEW first look trailer concept" the word "concept" tends to get cropped out due to length. funny that!

I feel this way about minecraft and its imitators. It's no longer a specific novelty and it's just One Of The Basic Types Of Game. I think this is how Roblox and its child labour happened
I feel like the "absorb all the stuff and get bigger so you can absorb more stuff" genre is what survivors games (eg Vampire Survivors) naturally grew from
This seems great to me! Friendly, confident, no expectations beyond the hope that they're rewarded for the work they've put in. I've got my fingers crossed for them :)
