"The Big Beat" by Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers features a star-studded band, some great originals, and a driving drummer that hammers the ensemble together. Aside from the mediocre "Politely" the album heralds the future success of the ensemble and the musicians.

1998's "Zero Effect" has a lot of similar themes of other detective movies: a socially inept genius, a long suffering sidekick, and a nearly impossible case. However, the film humanizes all of the characters, even the villain, creating an engrossing and entertaining film.

The U.S. military has destroyed five boats it has alleged were ferrying drugs into the U.S., killing 27 people. No authority has publicly released the names of any of the dead. One family is believed to be the first to publicly say they believe a relative is among those who were killed.
