Yeah we absolutely need tax reform that bundles everything together in a digestible way, as well as "welcome packets" when moving to a new location that details everything you need to do.

I've been in NoHo for two years and they JUST reached out like "yo we got your federal / state taxes and you owe us BACKPAY.".
Never once had to do this in Glendale.

It depends. Some places that are in LA County like Glendale or Pasadena are exempt. I think the general rule is if your Mayor is LA's Mayor, you're shit outta luck (I'm in NoHo).

So LA quietly has a tax on remote freelancers and they just so conveniently don't make it a big deal about it until way after the deadline and then they suddenly start throwing late charges at you. What the fuck.

Also it's not even during the regular tax season. It's fucking January 1st.
