This week is bird week! Ringed Kingfisher for #birdtober in #watercolor.

Lots of fun to paint this guy and his catch.

Slick and smooth banana slug for my last installment of #stilltober! On to a new set of prompts after this.

We hiked for quite a while before we got to see one of these recently. Always worth it.

I was briefly one of your father's students. Sending you love and peace as you walk through this.

I get it, I leave Weds… day job and finishing the sweater here. And thank you for doing the whistles and zines and cards.

Haha packing? What’s packing? The suitcase is still put away…

Collards and cornbread and cast iron … it’s taken me a minute, but I think my southern friends have taught me something

Very excited that these crochet squares get to go to Paris with @mathgrrl.com, even though one has a big mistake - all part of the process!

Going to pick out one more motif soon and work it up. 🧶

The oldest thing I could think of for #stilltober today… an ammonite fossil.

As a leftie and a knitter: don’t let anyone convince you you should reverse your knitting! It will make lots of things much harder down the road. Knitting needs both hands and you can hold the yarn in whichever hand is most comfortable for you.

Matcha latte for #stilltober today. I’m always charmed by latte art.

Didn’t learn this one until graduate school. Blew my mind.

Here’s a primer on ‘primer.’

It’s pronounced ‘PRIMM-er’ if you mean “a small book” or “a short informative piece of writing.”

It’s pronounced ‘PRY-mer’ if you mean “an initial coat of paint.”

My pet peeve is the low-contrast, unimportant-information-dense two color brioche charts… but that’s me wanting an industry overhaul for style. Still I to struggle to read them, when normally I prefer charts.

Spicy hot peppers for #stilltober "Heat" in #watercolor. Always fun trying to keep the shine on these things.

I’ve been regulating my nervous system this week and warming up for a commission with this new great-horned owl cut paper #collage. It’s likely one of the only #calmtober prompts I’ll get to, though I’m still enjoying everyone else’s illustrations! #watercolor #cutpaper #owl #calmtober25
Great Horned Owl art by Sadee Schilling rendered in watercolor and cut paper collage. The artist holds the finished assemblage with detailed, layered feathers and textured watercolor washes in earthy blues, violets, and browns. A watercolor painting of a tree in a similar color palette peeks out from behind the owl.

Y’all, I need to borrow some of your finest knitting mojo. 🧶 Here’s my #rhinebecksweater as of right now - needs a few more inches in the body and something resembling sleeves. I’m still battling a messed up elbow in PT, so what normally would have been easy is going to be a challenge. #knitting
Handknit colorwork sweater in progress. It needs about 5” more on the body and both sleeves.

Thank you! And thanks for the boost too :)

This week I'm using the prompts for #stilltober and painting in watercolor!

Here is a Nicobar pigeon in #watercolor for #stilltober25 prompt "iridescent". Fun fact, this fancy guy is the closest living relative of the dodo.
