It's not even the worst thing going on. However, it's definitely affecting the most Americans of any of the shit we have going on. And it's miserable and we (by which I mean the people who would still be allowed to vote if there was a competency test for voting) saw it coming a mile away.

She was sorry and didn't mean it. Instead she said she absolutely meant it and wasn't sorry for her behavior in the slightest. At one point she tried the non-apology, "I'm sorry you felt that way about what I said..."

I'm mourning only for the relationship with the person I thought I knew.

It shook me out of the state where I'd given up trying with her and just ignored the crap she'd say.

What's batshit is that she somehow thought that fighting and doubling down and attacking both of my other friends would somehow have a positive result when all any of us asked of her was to say...

And tried to bully her way through the entire conversation. I kind of gave up having standards for her at that point.

Until she said the most racist goddamn thing directly to a friend of the affected ethnicity and that friend had the audacity to say something about it.

We'd both gotten used to her saying nasty shit when she's mad and then making herself the victim no matter what she's done.

Early this summer she and I had an argument specifically about the way she treats and talks to friends and why she keeps losing them, and she pouted and self-martyred...

The friend she attacked was floored. They thought so much better of her, because she talks a big game.

The other member of our friend group and I, who've both known her much longer, both realized we kind of let it in one ear and out the other at first.

And we both had the same awful realization.

This is exactly how I feel right now. Two or three years ago, I was comfortable. Even six years ago, when I made less, I was comfortable.

Now, I'm feeling it. I feel like years of hard work are draining away.

When she was called out for this and asked to apologize to the Mexican-American friend who had to listen to this, she doubled down, said it wasn't racist, was fully justified, that she meant it, and started attacking that friend.

She now gets to be hateful all by herself.

I deadass just lost one of my oldest, closest friends over this. She's very liberal and an extreme Trump-hater... until she escalated an incredibly trivial argument with her neighbor beyond the point of sanity.

And guess what she threatened to do to his entire family?
