A interesting reason why Glenn Robbins is ranking so high: probably people putting down "Russell Coight", in light of the Mitsubishi Triton commercial series featuring Coight earlier this year: one ad particularly has had nearly 4m views since May.

It'd probably shock people if this turned up on a question card in time, from Don Lane's throw at late night humor back in 1988: considering Working Dog gave Pang his start, and the D Gen's love for Don Lane, to the point he was on the final Late Show (rights held by Working Dog)...
@flemishdog.bsky.social: Very interesting that the post '88 news update promo lacks a plug for Carroll at Seven.

There had been rumors as early as Expo 88's start, that Seven was raring to turf Carroll at Seven in favour of airing Hinch into Brisbane (following Sydney's lead)
Wouldn't be surprised if some of that Courier-Mail commercial was actually done on-site at Expo.

TVQ's Expo presence did a pretty fantastic job selling to exhibitors their facilities.

As we mentioned, in Veritas on KW: On Sunday earlier today:

The reason why Peter Fegan was punted from 4BC is as plain as day.

As this data shows:

A key metric, has cratered by 25% in twelve months, inc. a significant drop since the 2025 federal election.

That key metric: time spent listening.
Veritas on KW: on Sunday is back.

And, this week: we give you the reason why Peter Fegan was given the chop at 4BC... alongside a honest review of Nine's upfront "offering" earlier this week.

If I were someone backing Perth's Telethon this weekend: the future will look very shaky once Stokes steps back post-SCA/Seven merger.

This year's event may well be the end of a golden era, especially if costs are cut in Perth significantly by a merged entity.
I somehow think Steve Vizard predicted the corporate successor of Austereo and post-Qintex Seven attempting a tieup... in 1990.

One here for the Brits: Remember when for some awkward reason, BBC1 aired Burke's Backyard repeats from Australia...

May well have been a trade: so Nine could get Noel's House Party?

Shades of Ash Bradnam (then in between stints at Nova) filling in when Jamie Dunn and Ian Calder were cut from 4BC Breakfast, at around this time fifteen years ago.
The last words for Peter Fegan on 4BC:

"I’m back 5.30 Monday morning, have a fantastic weekend”.

Fegan should have realized that garbage day at 4BC's HQ at Cannon Hill is Tuesday, a fact whose knowledge without Googling should be a mandatory requirement for any replacement.

We've got perfectly good sharks here: why take celebrities to The Bahamas?

Australian sharks were used as part of Jaws, remember.

But meanwhile, we have word from the Shark Television upfronts in The Bahamas, were they simply called the show: "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner".
Nine:

Stop flogging the Lego Masters All Stars horse. It's close to or almost dead.

We want a season with regular contestants once more.

If Nigel Ruck and Jody Rigby were in the room, you'd have people thinking there was a Backyard Blitz reboot happening.

A Backyard Blitz reunion special: would be a ratings winner for sure, just for the stories from garden recipients...

Best part of Nine's upfront this year: no leaks beforehand... although, if the ice cream is left for too long it will melt.

The 29/10/24 episode of US Jeopardy got rerun again recently in Australia.

A very interesting question: are there a couple of NQTV bulletins from April 1988 somehow sitting up on Mt Coot-tha after a pre-Expo excursion to end up in this promo?

To understand this: basically, Seven called a near 10 year old series a "premiere"... despite the fact two films spinning off from it had already been in the cinemas at that point of 1991.

Definitely think Motorsport Australia needs to dictate the start of Bathurst... not the free to air broadcaster only airing Bathurst because of the anti-siphoning list.

The start of the Great Race has to return to 10am AEDT, like what worked well between 1979 and 2006.
Interesting that Nine went by calling the TV version of The Nude Bomb, as "The Nude Bomb".

NBC in the US aired it in 1982 completely retitled!
