Besides the science, I had the pleasure of setting-up and moderating a special career-session, where in a panel discussion Dr. Sabrina Kleeßen and Prof. Dr. @ekaiserli.bsky.social openly shared their experiences and advice from respectively industry and academia.

A very valuable experience! 😊
Oct 9-10 the PhenPlasPlants conference took place in Potsdam! Scientists from very diverse fields (genetics, to computational sciences and ecology) shared their findings in phenotypic plasticity research 🌱

Very proud to have been part of the organization committee! 👏 @crc1644.bsky.social
Advanced root system phenotyping alert! 📣Sophisticated rhizotrons with AI-based segmentation 🪴 🖥️ Very proud to have contributed to this during my PhD!

Urban environments provide exciting miniature models of global (climate) change! 🏙️Huiyao used data collected by student field work in Potsdam to study how the Leaf Economic Spectrum and Plant Ecological Strategies differ between urban green (e.g. treebeds) and grey (e.g. pavements) spaces 🌿
Yesterday was the science day at the Institute of Biology & Biochemistry @unipotsdam.bsky.social! An amazing variety of research, from bacteriophage treatments to ancient hippo DNA 🦠🔬🧬 Also a proud supervisor moment as my MSc student Huiyao Zhang presented her first poster! About what? CRC 1644 Retreat 2025

Great minds, one mission!
This year’s CRC 1644 retreat was more than just a change of scenery — it was a powerhouse of ideas, collaboration, and interdisciplinary exchange.
Plants have a fascinating display of phenotypic plasticity! 🌱✨ But what are the underlying mechanistic and evolutionary processes?!

Join us in Potsdam at the International Conference on Phenotypic Plasticity in Plants!

We have great opportunities for early-career scientists to give a talk! 👏

We are now on Bluesky!

Our Collaborative Research Center 1644 “Phenotypic Plasticity in Plants” was recently established at the University of Potsdam.
The #TRR341 meeting has kicked off! A very interesting talk from @evodaveo.bsky.social about GxE interactions and how to separate them from individual G and E effects using a gene network with cliques.

He also shared some important and inspiring believes that are now more relevant than ever! 👏
Excited to be part of the Cologne Spring Meeting 2025 on “Plant Ecological Genetics”, which starts tomorrow!

I am already enjoying the flora (and the sun) in the Botanischer Garten Köln. Also spotted the first Arabidopsis thaliana plants popping up 🌱☀️
Also many thanks to my colleagues from the Lindstädter group, as well as from the Lenhard and Fernie group. We could not have done it without you! 🙌🌱
We took on the mammoth task to set up a #GWAS with 7200 A.thaliana plants to investigate #leaf phenotypes to varying N levels. Great teamwork with Subash (Lenhard lab) & Yinan (Fernie lab)

Stay tuned for the harvest and lots of interesting results to come! @unipotsdam.bsky.social @mpi-cbg.de

New job, new platform! ✨ A month ago I started as a postdoc at Uni Potsdam, part of CRC1644 "Phenotypic plasticity in plants". It was a warm welcome in the BioDiv group of Prof Anja Lindstäter

I am beyond happy to continue my interdisciplinary research (and to live in such a beautiful new place!)
