So sorry for your loss. I understand completely. I said goodbye to my Georgie last year. Sam is definitely slowing. I am carrying her up and down stairs now. She’s 15, and she’s had a good life

Dog walk report. 7 degrees C with light rain at 5:30 this morning. Just thrilled to see a bit of moisture. Another rough night for Sam’s tummy, and my sleep 😴 maybe tonight will be better ❤️🐕

Dog walk report. 6 degrees C and cloudy at about 5:30 this morning. We had a little rain overnight, which is welcome during this drought. Sam’s tummy is off, so we have been up and down all night. Hope she feels a bit better ❤️🐕

She is. She requires variety. No plain kibble. Add some chicken, or maybe sardine, or egg. Yes to sweet potatoes. No to plain potato. Never carrot. Pumpkin is sometimes okay, but sometimes not 🤷🏻‍♀️

The worst is meal time. She will pick through the plate to find the bits she likes. The rest gets tossed around the plate. And it must be a plate. No bowls!

She likes liver treats, milk bones, these beef chews we get. But she really likes variety. If she’s offered the same treat everyday, she’s unimpressed! Sweet girl. And a little picky!

Just one now. I had two, but lost one last year. I would love to have more, but Sam is a senior who likes her space, so I’m just hanging out with her while I am lucky enough to have her

I agree. Very lucky. Safety is important. Do they have Elder Dog in your community? Volunteer walkers who help out by taking dogs out for dog lovers who aren’t able. They can be wonderful

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I lost my Georgie a year ago, also at 10. It’s so hard, but I wouldn’t trade the love we shared not to feel the pain

Honestly Sam is pretty elderly. Sometimes her tummy is off and she needs out multiple times. Other days she’s just up in the night, like my grandmother often was in her last years, and feels like a walk. Either way, I just try to make her comfortable
