Empathy and humanity is universal. My empathy is reserved for the rest of the human race who can also experience that mutual sentiment. He’s not defending SpaceX. We’re not even talking about SpaceX. We’re talking about actual space exploration, and technology, and what poverty means in that context. That’s not to say what Elon is doing is not problematic, especially as he wants to be the world‘s first trillionaire. It’s a problem.

Space could be a collective goal. There is nothing more that I think about consistently than a Star Trek future. But for me, I have to make a decision. Do I still want space exploration, knowing that humanity itself is struggling on the ground… I have to choose humanity now. The alternative is… 🥴

Listen, I am not against space exploration, I am a complete fucking nerd when it comes to space. I spent my whole life, staring up at the stars, dreaming for a future in it. But the more I look down at earth, the more I see that space should not be our collective goal right now. We have big problems

I’m not sure what responsibilities you are looking for. The responsibilities should come from the government, taking care of the people and not the billionaires.
