I agree. Vietnam was a deadly farce.
The physical was just like Arlo Guthrie in Alice's Restaurant, worst day of your life. They asked who had a police record. We got physical and they sat there. Passed everyone except those with police a record.

Me too! Soon thereafter came the draft notice for the year, My number was 2!!!! I was sweating bullets thinking I was going to become a Canadian somehow. They finally ended the draft in the early '70s and I didn't have to get killed in the meaningless war.

Also, and I know this from personal experience, old people don't heal as fast as younger people (I'm not as old as Donnie but I'm up there).

I took a '50s '60s rock and roll themed cruise in the '90s and Sam Moore was one of the performers. I was sitting 4 feet from him and it was a delightful evening of music.
