Pretty sure the Spectrum Patrol Car has a special motor inside, as it sounds like a jet engine spinning up. No external mods to the motor. I like it!
Today, the solder was misbehaving. I had 4 digital plugs that needed the lighting sockets to be added. The solder was forming a sphere and going upwards. I also failed to get a proper connection and had to re-do 2 of them. Got there in the end. Spectrum Patrol Car is Go.
All 3 cars rewired ready for the new digital plugs that must be with the postie by now. Two had wires on the lighting boards that could easily be unsoldered. I'm not so confident with wires that have to be pushed through the board and soldered from the back. More difficult to patch up.
Very interesting sky colour out there. The Sun is not behind that.
Meant to add this. Don't know how to copy and paste text on mobile phones, so we are two.
Eagerly waiting for my pack of 4 #Scalextric Digital Plugs Rev. H so I can get the new cars converted to digital with lights on all the time, as God intended. I may start rerouting the lighting harnesses.
Been having a disc tidy up and found a series only partially published, so I have put the full set on my blog page so that they are not lost. See

which also goes by its new web address with blogger instead of blogspot.

I was thinking more of taking a bus to the James Webb telescope.
The big ole boy telescope mount battery has arrived. It's on charge, possibly for 6 hours as it appears to be mostly empty. It has a red light for night use, white light for scaring away the bears.
You`ll be able to see the red buses on the moon, they`re huge, but you need a special `scope to make the ants look like people.
Doesn't need a big 'scope for the moon, just a nice quality eye-piece for the clarity.
%USERPROFILE%\OneDrive\ is a good starting place to look for it locally. Of course, Mr. Microsoft can have a look at it too. Or it really has disappeared into the ether.
Ordered a nice big astronomising battery to run my Goto `scope. Fed up with charging 10 AA batteries every time I want to go out and see the stars and planets. This is part of my bigger plan to get a monster motorised equatorial mount and a new big `scope: my birthday and Christmas presents to me.
My car tax has gone up by 40%, without me changing the car. Oh well, at least they`ll fix 40% more of the pot-holes that make for a bumpy journey. Pity they`ve closed the road to my village so I`ll not know for another 4 or 5 weeks.
Message from ASMart: "Thank you for your order of the BABYMETAL at the O2 Blu-rays. You cannot cancel your order, SU-METAL is already heading to the shops with your loot."
Not quite going to get here by Christmas I doubt, but maybe the New Year. Excellent. Hopefully will be on sale in the UK too.
So we have more compression and cheaper pressings that are less reliable. Yeuck.
I don't think that's an issue with my Doctor Who Blu-rays. They are going for better-looking upscales, they wouldn't then ruin them with lossy compression.
Coincidentally, I am collecting BDs to save space!
This afternoon, the player is playing the discs happily. I know not why it failed earlier. Just feeling belligerent, it appears. Apart from shouting at it, I don`t know what to do.
I have had firmware issues before. Oppo pulled out of the market and the last firmware update was 2019.
Update: discs played on my older Oppo 83. Back to the UDP-203 and this afternoon it plays the new discs happily. What?! I had earlier turned it off and on again to no avail.
Smells of a bug!
Bought a new Blu-ray set of Doctor Who and rather oddly the first 2 discs I tried on my Oppo UDP-203 go through the intro videos but can`t show the menu, just the sound and the words "Invalid Format". Firmware is the latest. My Panasonic BD recorder can play them. The discs are OK, but too modern?
Firstly, the digital signal is getting through now! Secondly, I had to wait for the amp to do a firmware update before comparing.
After equalizing the input volumes, I can report that there`s not much detectable difference between which DACs are used, at least to my gnarly old ears.
Puzzled for 4 months over why I couldn`t get my digital streamer connected to my digital AV amp digitally, to use the amp`s DACs. today I recalled that I switched off the streamer`s digital output about a year ago since I wasn`t using it. Doh! Now to compare the streamer`s DACs with the amp`s.
I'm pleased this made the A-List. I limited what I could do by having sprites with sprite shadows, so only 3 other vehicles. I got squeezed for RAM space, what with 8 background graphics sets. Lots of technical tricks in this, in an attempt to smooth scroll the whole screen at speed.
Might have been G-Dragon, apparently.
The power of AI: after the Singapore F1 finished, I asked my browser who waved the chequered flag, since we didn't see, it might have been our Queen SU. It said the race hadn't started. Asked again 5 hours later, it said "Lando Norris". Pretty sure he was too busy at the time. So who did?
