Yeah, it's pretty fun! I'm going to try and do the West Don in one day, if I can. It's about 40 km, which will be long but I'll train over the winter.

The East Don will be my next one. It has almost no trails until the 401, though.

I thought I might be able to get in from Roslin, but no luck.

‪The four principles of Urban Headwaters

1) We will not travel on private property
2) We will take the route which is physically closest to the river
3) Our preference is for marked and maintained trails
4) If we do have to take city streets, we take sidestreets where possible

I was out today as well, still working on my complete West Don River walk from the headwaters to the lakeshore. Confirmed that you can walk Glendon College to Coxwell & O'Connor without stepping on a city street.

Back at my computer now. Yea, I think that part of the challenge is that you can either get totally bent out of shape about the craziness, or simply thankful that we are spared most of it here in Canada.

Exploring the Don between York Mills and Bayview

One of the challenges walking the Don is the stretch between York Mills and Bayview. Is it possible to walk this stretch without going on city streets? Let's explore online! www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGcz...

It's Scott Welch here, I have had the pleasure of reading your columns and corresponding with you for many, many years. So sorry to see you retire, but at he same time... well done you!

River #1 -- The West Don
The West Don stretches from the northern edge of Maple, just north of Canada's Wonderland, to the new Portlands Park in Downtown Toronto.

Can we walk the entire distance? Join me and see!
