She frowned, tugging her legs close to herself and hugging them close to her chest.

"Humans are like that too, sometimes." She mumbled. And then instantly looked like she regretted saying that. "Only sometimes! Most of the time, they're... they're good!"
"It is, and it's wrong. He didn't need to regenerate; the High Council just wanted to be cruel."
"Yeah, I can't blame him." She mumbled, shaking her head. "That's... a harsh punishment for helping people."

At least she bit someone.
(Stop thinking about it!)
When he laughed, she found herself laughing too.

Which was good, because her giggles would hide the sigh of relief when he introduced himself and then asked for her name in return.

"Valerie. I'm called Valerie."
"Oh."

She considered this, fingers tapping against her leg. She took a moment to take stock of her mental state. Is she feeling like doing any of that more so than usual?

Probably best not to think too hard about that, actually!

"Kneeling wouldn't help our height difference, I don't think."
"Thank you, thank you, thank you."

She took a sip, leaning against the counter.
a cup was held out with a smile.
"Please."

She seemed really exhausted. Eyes half open, body swaying as if she's drunk. (She's not drunk!)

"He doesn't like to talk about it. The only reason why I know is the High Council uses him as an example to warn younger Time Lords."

*Fortunately, Romana had never been forced to regenerate, but then again, she hadn't been back to Gallifrey for decades.*
"Wait, what?"

She blinked rapidly, trying to process what she just said. Valerie had been forced to regenerate once. But that was a long time ago and a very different situation.

Don't think of that.
Don't think of that, don't think of that, don't think of that.

"He never told me about that."
"I don't think I've felt something like you before. Or, at least, I think it's you..."

It seemed like she was about to say more, but instead trailed off. She tilted her head, eyebrows furrowing. A confused animal.

"Different? What's the normal reaction?"
"Please."

She seemed really exhausted. Eyes half open, body swaying as if she's drunk. (She's not drunk!)
“ coffee. ”

the redhead replied with a nod.
The smell has drawn her out from underneath her blankets. Blinking sleepily.

"... Coffee...?"
"Wait, what?"

Don't think of that, don't think of that, don't think of that.

"He never told me about that."
"Most Time Lords use their TARDISes just for observing because the High Council of Gallifrey has a strict non-intervention policy. If I were caught, I would likely be forced to regenerate then exiled like the Doctor was at the end of his second incarnation."
She giggled and shrugged.

"Oh, I'm used to that. But, um, why have machines that can travel in time and space and just... stay put? That doesn't make sense."
"Perfect!"

Her grin stayed on her face while she rocked on her heels, unable to stay still any longer. She's practically radiating hyper energy.

"And this way, we can have a conversation instead of just... staring."
//Valerie: I'm getting the hang of this 'acting like people' thing!

Also Valerie, three seconds later: 👁️👄👁️
The laugh escaped her then. It wasn't mean, not at all, it was a giggle of pure delight.

"Depends. Are you comfortable like that? If so, that's perfect!"

She let her hands move to her sides then. Slowly, so he could see that she wasn't reaching towards him.
Mm...
I don't know about no flaws. But you are pretty amazing.
JUNOBOT has no flaws. It would be sub-optimal, and all of JUNOBOT runs A and OK!
Can't argue with you there.

But *you* think my second heart is a tumor, so we both have our flaws.
Can't argue with you there.

But *you* think my second heart is a tumor, so we both have our flaws.
Although she is organic, and thus illogical.
Mmhm! It's not *exactly* the same, but it's close enough!
Mmhm! It's not *exactly* the same, but it's close enough!
JUNOBOT is aware of User's Cucciola mindset.
It's also *my* directive to assist!
Her eyes tracked the movement like a cat watching a string.

She almost laughed when he sounded surprised at her compliment; that was supposed to be an attempt at being normal!

"You're welcome. Maybe we should find a place for you to sit? So you don't have to keep bending."
The smell has drawn her out from underneath her blankets. Blinking sleepily.

"... Coffee...?"
everyone is waking up?

she’ll start some coffee for everyone.
It's also *my* directive to assist!
Query User's meaning.
(Giggles. Burying her face in her knees to muffle it.)

Y'know, we have a LOT in common!
"Thank you."

She kept her hands behind her, getting a closer look at him. It doesn't hurt her neck quite as much this way. Looking up had been painful.

She's studying him. Curiosity shining in her eyes.

"I like your hair." She commented eventually, realizing she'd been staring too intensely.
She giggled and shrugged.

"Oh, I'm used to that. But, um, why have machines that can travel in time and space and just... stay put? That doesn't make sense."
"Yes, they did. He has a reputation for being unconventional and rebellious. Most Time Lords prefer keeping to Gallifrey. The Doctor and I are among the few to travel the universe.

As for the other Time Lords...you're not missing much. Most of them are very arrogant and tend to be condescending."
"Reputation?"

She raised an eyebrow.

"So... they knew of him? The others? I don't really, uh, know much about other Time Lords."
"Reputation?"

She raised an eyebrow.

"So... they knew of him? The others? I don't really, uh, know much about other Time Lords."
"I knew him by reputation before the other Time Lords sent me to keep an eye on him during my first incarnation. At first, I was a little critical of how different he was, but over time, I learned to respect him deeply."
"Of course, m —"

She almost groaned in frustration, but instead bit her tongue. She could do it. She's done it before.

"You, uh, knew him before you traveled with him, right?"
". . . Okay."

She took a few steps back, hands firmly clasped behind her back.

"What about now? I'm just trying to get a good look at your face and you're, like, a bazillion feet taller than me!"

"You'd be surprised!"

Tiny sneer. He is NOT going to comply.
Blink.

Blink.

"Why do you think I want --?! We just met!"
"Of course, m —"

She almost groaned in frustration, but instead bit her tongue. She could do it. She's done it before.

"You, uh, knew him before you traveled with him, right?"
"Well, if you're sure. You can trust me, though, Valerie. I've known the Doctor for a long time."

*She rested one hand on Valerie's reassuringly while holding the coffee in the other.*
"No, no! It's not you, m ---" Flinches. "It's not you, I promise."
"No, no! It's not you, m ---" Flinches. "It's not you, I promise."
*She noticed the panic in Valerie's eyes and felt a twinge of guilt.*

"I'm sure I said something wrong. I'm sorry."
"I..."

Her eyes flash in panic, but she hid it underneath a smile.

"Right. Sorry, I forgot you wanted that."
Blink.

Blink.

"Why do you think I want --?! We just met!"

Dramatically waves his hands in front of his face.

"No no-! I'm already spoken for, you may not access any of my orifices!!!"
Indifference? She can work with indifference.

Squinting up at him. Then:
"Can you bend down a little please, sir?"
(Giggles. Burying her face in her knees to muffle it.)

Y'know, we have a LOT in common!
/ / / - - - / / / - - - / / / - - - PROCESSING . . .

It is JUNOBOT's directive to assist, provided that it does not cause harm to the Signora.
No, it wasn't the question.

The question is: Why do you keep helping me?
