Further to this, this project must also put European Member State economies, industries and communities first.

We will work tirelessly with everyone to deliver on this promise of a capital-to-capital High Speed Rail network. If successful, it will set this continent up for long-term prosperity.
But - to ensure that our industry can help deliver this plan - we need to ensure dedicated financing and public procurement reform. On top of this, Member States must deliver on their commitment to investing and rolling out ERTMS - European Rail Traffic Management System.

We support the European Commission's announcement of an ambitious and emphatic High Speed Rail Plan.

Europe has a political, customs and currency union – it’s time for a complete, modern transport union.
🚆 We are stressing the need to include wheels, axles, and wheelsets to ensure fair competition, in order to protect EU industry and jobs. Stay tuned as we work towards a balanced and effective CBAM framework for now and beyond!

We are pleased to see substantial progress on scaling up #GlobalGateway.

This year’s forum has brought plenty of announcements and initiatives which will contribute to boost EU rail suppliers' involvement in Global Gateway:
🛡️ This is alongside delivering dual-use military mobility projects, which benefit both passengers and Europe's defensive capabilities.

💪 We need to maintain this level of ambition, and ensure that Europe's prosperity and defence comes first!
🚄 This funding goes towards the goal of delivering the Single European Railway Area, and ensure that critical bottlenecks within the proposed TEN-T network are addressed.
💶 This includes calling on EU Member States and members of @europarl.europa.eu to ensure this critical funding is unlocked in upcoming EU Budget negotiations.
🚄 Europe cannot flourish and remain secure without rail.

🇪🇺 Today, ten rail sector organisations have come together to support the @ec.europa.eu's plan to boost the Connecting Europe Facility.

🇱🇹 Our Head of Public Affairs Jonathan Nguyen was at the Urban Mobility Days in #Vilnius this week, where Eurocities presented the priorities of mayors and local leaders across Europe.
