Simple actions, like understanding #DateMarking, can make a big difference in reducing food waste while ensuring we can enjoy food safely.

That’s why knowing what these dates mean is important:

🔹 #BestBefore: products can be safely consumed after this date
This #WorldFoodDay shines a light on the power of global cooperation to build a resilient #FoodFuture and reminds us that everyone should do its part to cut #FoodWaste.

#DoingOurPart
We achieved this significant milestone thanks to the wider rollout of efficient collection and waste management systems across Europe, like #DepositReturnSystems (#DRS), which help boost #BeveragePackaging collection for #recycling.
This exceeds the EU’s mandatory recycled content targets and our own ambitious 2025 target of 50% rPET.
When our sector commits to achieving #PackagingCircularity, we mean it and we deliver.

The proof is in our actions and results: today, 51.7% of the PET used by UNESDA corporate members is recycled PET (#rPET).
Evidence demonstrates that soft drinks taxes are ineffective in achieving positive health outcomes, even in countries where they have been implemented for years, as obesity rates continue to rise.
✅ This achievement comes on top of an average sugar reduction of 14.6% (2015-2019) & a 13.3% reduction (2000-2015).

➡️ We achieved it through #innovation, which enables us to lower sugar without compromising on taste.

➡️ Real change is driven by our voluntary sugar reduction actions, not taxation.
✅ We did it again! We have reached another #SugarReduction milestone:

👏 We achieved a 12.4% reduction in average added sugars in our #SoftDrinks across the EU-27 and the UK between 2019 and 2024!

👏 This exceeds our 2019-2025 sugar reduction target of 10%.
➡️ That’s why EU’s regulatory #simplification efforts are so important and they should be lasting.
