I have DF16. I remember the ambush rules basically leverage the existing Surprise rules and add some guidance on Quick Contests for relevant skills. I think @navaronegun.bsky.social ‘s solution is more holistic and elegant. YMMV.

Tonight’s the night! Prepping for Session #1 of the Karameikos campaign (powered by GURPS). Last night I had so many ideas, I had to get up at 2am and write them down to clear my head enough to sleep! Never fear, by morning I had a bucket load more ideas spilling out of my dreams. 🎲🎲🎲
