Beautiful indeed! There are some views we never get bored of, for sure. I can sit on my balcony for hours in the summer, just looking out over the trees 😺
Generally if I’m around he expects his dinner! Mainly because I tend to get in around 18.30 & then he knows he doesn’t have to wait long. He also knows that when the footie’s on in the pm he doesn’t have long to wait either. He gets confused at the weekend when the footie’s on earlier! 😹
Nearly every picture I have of BG is the same - especially in the darker half of the year! He sees it get dark and thinks, ‘Hang on, why haven’t I had my dinner yet?’ Hence the outraged expression 😸

Overfishing is not the answer.

Together, we can demand that the government put our shared seas before corporate profit.

Help us tell UK Govt it's time to: END OVERFISHING 🎣 https://bit.ly/3Wxi2MI
I wonder what the jackdaw thought of you? The #FirstBirdOfMyDay here was a Wood Pigeon racing past - certainly didn’t see me, much less think anything of me as it whizzed by! Gotta get out of that wind and rain!

“Check out my magnificent whiskers this Wednesday! Especially as it’s coming up to my time of year!” Yes, Pumpkin. We know 😹 #WhiskersWednesday
Finally someone brave enough to just come out and say it and who isn’t scared of the backlash that will come because he actually believes what he’s talking about and has some evidence to support his claims.
Wishing you (and all of us) the best for this debate. The Gulls (the Gulls!) are sending you vociferous support - so loud you can probably hear them all the way over the Channel 😺 #FirstBirdOfMyDay

Only six and a half months to go and they’ll be back! 😻😻😻 What a fantastic colony! Have you considered getting a nest box or two for your house or flat? Now that would make an unusual Christmas present!
Have you got those dark, winter evening blues already?
Take yourself to a June morning in Dorset and watch the Swifts at Cranborne Manor, flying those live-long Summer days...
All things must pass.

After years of research, scientist Leonid Pshenichnov concluded Russia + China cannot continue fishing krill, the main food source of many marine creatures, at current rates without risking breakdown of entire ocean ecosystems. Russia had him arrested:

Don’t forget the banks that still fund the fossil fuel industry. They’re all in this together, not us.
Overshooting 1.5°C wasn't 'inevitable.'

We've been pushed by fossil fuel giants & governments that pander to them.

Every delay, every oil field, every broken promise made this crisis worse.

Keir Starmer, will you promise to leave Rosebank undeveloped?

A couple of weeks ago now but check out this stately trunk now serving as a wonderful host to all this ivy, which was buzzing with bees 😺 Always nice to see the circle of life in full flow #ThickTrunkTuesday

How exciting! I had Mr Feral Pigeon doing a dance around Ms Feral Pigeon in the park. While his dance was energetic, her response was less so 😹 #FirstBirdOfMyDay

When your AI assistant gives you “the news,” how sure are you it’s right?

BBC/EBU research shows half of AI-generated answers about current events contain errors.

Time for standards in AI journalism.

Stephen McNair reports
Artificial Intelligence and the news: ‘could do better’
Growing numbers of people are getting their news from artificial intelligence assistants. A new international study raises some concerns.

They’re not encouraging people to buy more petrol/diesels, but giving subsidies to people for electric cars without specifying that they should be a replacement, so people are just buying second or third cars which are electric. So we just end up with families getting more cars.
Excellent work 👍 Here they’re encouraging electric car use but as an addition which just makes traffic problems worse!
I can imagine the uproar there would have been in the UK if the EU had dared to put out a ‘What has the EU ever done for us?’ type of video. Propaganda! Brussels interference! EUSSR! I think it could have backfired spectacularly, even if it had been 100% factual and made the case brilliantly.
True but we’re talking about people who want to spend half or most of the year in their ‚holiday’ home while officially being UK residents. They never registered before because no-one chased them up and they don’t want to have to choose now. So it’s all the terrible EU’s fault they have to decide.
No, thank you for all your wildlife work 😻
