Facts nerd. Currently living life in a constant state of concern and posting more often than I plan to. I seem to be growing more sarcastic by the day. Apologies for that.

He is worried that it is going to happen again if the Dems take the House.
When they put "Voter ID" in, it isn't the same thing we used to understand. "Voter ID" in the next election could mean polling places with armed military as "escorts" or "guards" that are there watching as you show your ID.

We win by giving them our collective middle finger and showing up anyway.
All true. But he makes it sound like you need ID just to buy food. I'm not sure he even knows the difference. Remember him saying "grocery" like it was a foreign language during the campaign?

“The word ‘grocery,’ it’s a sort of simple word. But it sort of means, like, everything you eat."
Trumps whole ethos is "never admit you were wrong or aren't the best". These guys try to emulate it for favor.
Where are these grocery stores that require ID?
He is. But his "answer" to affordability will be "MORE TARRIFFS".

Perhaps at some point after they lose enough, the Republicans will consider putting someone without dementia in charge.
This is what encourages AND worries me the most. Fear of impeachment will drive more voter intimidation, more encouragement of violence and am attempt at the Insurrection Act to suppress the vote.

As a country, we must make it clear that the more they try to intimidate us, the more we will vote.
First time I ever liked anything Youngkin said.
I am feeling a tad less dystopian tonight.
You can literally see in the video that there's nothing on his vest after the sandwich hits.
The choice for Democrats:
Important state and local elections shouldn't be decided by coattails.

I’m outside one of the largest ICE detention centers in the US, where an Episcopal priest has been held for days. The diocese and his family insist he is here legally. I’m asking questions. Join me on Substack: substack.com/@thefrankfig...

Pennsylvania, our lives depend on this election! 🗳️
This isn’t like the Supreme Court — no lifetime seats here. Every election is our chance to choose the future we want. Show up, speak out, and VOTE like it all depends on it… because it does. #VoteDemToday
Trumps hostage-taking of food benefits feels more like Rudolf Höss in Sophie's Choice than Nero.

The "Sophie's Choice" here is food for those who would starve without it or allowing Americans a means to access healthcare.

Trump is just smugly enjoying his power in forcing it. This is evil.
The Hague would have been more satisfying.
I thought it was that the blouse perfectly framed her cross, because Jesus said, "be sure to always brag in every way about how good you are at being Christian while lying in support of corruption."

Forget where in the bible that was, though...
Don't disagree. But if it serves the purpose of opening some eyes, I'll take what I can get.
Don't worry. The Supreme Court will no doubt declare the starvation of American children as a protected privilege of the executive.
I still think Marjorie Taylor Greene is vile. But if she is going to sway some low info voters to actually start questioning the right-wing propaganda? I support that.
Could not vote in NYC - but yes, otherwise!
My 18-year-old cat still comes running when a can opener is used, and we haven't used cans that need it to feed him since he was about 3.
I kinda read that one as "Nope. Toilet paper just unraveled itself. Shut up, Fluffy."
